Updated 2023 NFL Draft order after Panthers trade up to No. 1 with Bears

The Chicago Bears traded their first overall pick to the Carolina Panthers in a giant trade. Here’s what the 2023 NFL Draft order looks like right now.
Since the conclusion of the regular season, the NFL world has been watching the Chicago Bears, the #1 overall pick. Looking at their roster, it appears they have a quarterback for the foreseeable future in Justin Fields. Not only that, but there were a few select teams in the top 10 of the 2023 NFL Draft that needed a quarterback. The Bears could get traction for this pick, and reportedly were open for business.
The Bears have found a buyer in the Carolina Panthers.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport broke the news that the Panthers took first place overall from the Bears. ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reports that in exchange for the No. 1 overall pick, the Panthers sent the No. 9 and 61st picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, a 2024 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick, and a wide receiver. The Panthers have their picks from Alabama’s top four quarterback prospects Bryce Young, Ohio State’s CJ Stroud, Kentucky’s Will Leevis and Florida’s Anthony Richardson. Meanwhile, the Bears are getting much-needed capital to continue building their team in the Contender.
With the Texans set for second place, who are unlikely to concede their pick, all eyes will be on the Arizona Cardinals, who have no quarterback need. Teams like the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders are teams that monitor great progression to ensure they get one of their best prospects.
The 2023 NFL Draft just got a lot more interesting. Now, we wait until April 27th to see who the Panthers select as their future quarterback and the face of the franchise.
