Tom Brady’s second retirement may not abide by a report that the former Patriots and Buccaneers quarterback could be looking at the Dolphins.

Aaron Rodgers recently talked about not wanting to follow in Brett Favre’s footsteps, retiring and later changing his mind about it.

Tom Brady had already done that. Now there is talk that he could go full Favre and do it again.

According to Rich Eisen, the talk around the NFL Combine in Indianapolis was that Brady could look at another instance of discomfort with an eye toward playing for the Dolphins.

Tom Brady may not want to play for the Dolphins

Brady has been linked to the Dolphins for a while now. They were an option for him because he was leaving the Patriots before he decided to sign with the Pirates. So it’s no surprise that the team has been linked to these rumors even with Tua Tagovailoa returning as a hypothetical starter in 2023.

Miami’s commitment to Tagovailoa as their long-term quarterback remains in question. These rumors will only add to the perception that they are looking at other options. Brady’s signing could spell the end for Tagovailoa in Miami with his fifth-year option floated next year.

The gamble is whether Brady has anything left to offer a team with Super Bowl aspirations. In 2022, he threw for 4,694 yards but only had 25 touchdowns with nine interceptions. The Bucs went 8-9 and were defeated by the Cowboys in the playoffs.

Brady officially retired for the second time earlier this year and at the time it looked like this one was going to stick around. He still has a broadcast gig with FOX but that deal doesn’t kick off until 2024. Meanwhile, there have been reports of an unexpected turnaround in the former quarterback’s career.

However, the endless rumors. Where there is smoke, there may be fire.
