NFL rumors: Packers unreasonable trade demands for Aaron Rodgers revealed

Reportedly, the Green Bay Packers want a first-round pick and more for Aaron Rodgers. Will the New York Jets give them?
Aaron Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer, there is no denying it. However, he’s entering his 39 season and coming off a down year.
Rodgers announced that he wanted to play for the New York Jets when he talked about it with Pat McAfee. He seemed tired of the way players treated their veteran players, but he gave Green Bay some leverage by commenting on the matter.
What could Green Bay want for Rodgers? According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, the Packers demand more than just a No. 12 first-round pick.
The Jets, according to Florio, thought the Packers were unreasonable about this. However, Green Bay has plenty of time to wait, as Rodgers’ cap doesn’t start until week one.
NFL rumours: Packers revealed asking price for Aaron Rodgers
Mike Florio outlined the Packers’ demands in his morning piece on PFT:
The Packers want more than a first-round pick as part of the basic deal. They want protection in 2025, should Rodgers play in 2024. That’s more than the Jets think they should surrender to a player the Packers no longer want.
If the Jets were willing to offer something like a conditional package that could entail up to a second-round pick this year and even a second-round pick next year, the Packers would be mad not to accept it.”
The problem with this strategy is that the Jets are in no rush to trade for Rodgers. They can wait until training camp if necessary. Rodgers knows their offense because he’s managed it before – Green Bay OC Nathaniel Hackett is in Jets colors now.
Brian Gutkunst wants his moment to shine, and he gets a bonus for Rodgers. However, the Airplanes are not inclined to agree at the moment.
