NFL rumors: Eagles finally get good news among big offseason losses

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to re-sign veteran pass tackle Brandon Graham.
Defensive end Brandon Graham will sign a one-year, $6 million deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to ESPN’s Tim McManus.
Graham told CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson the following:
“I’m not officially signed yet, but it’s been done a lot. I’m a comeback. It wasn’t about the money. I love Philly. I don’t want to miss out on a championship with Galen. Galen is the man. I just told my agent to make it happen.”
Last season, Graham had a career year at 34. He had a career-high 11.0 sacks, which was tied for 14th in the NFL. He also has an impressive PFF score of 89.8.
The Eagles held on to Brandon Graham as he entered a tough season
That’s a big win for the Eagles, who are set to lose several major shareholders. On The John Kincade Show, ESPN’s Adam Schefter stated that he believes the team will likely lose safety CJ Gardner-Johnson and deal with Javon Hargrave in free agency. According to ESPN’s Dianna Russini, the organization has given cornerback Darius Slay permission to look for a deal, too.
Some of the other notable Eagles running backs are Miles Sanders, quarterback Jason Kelsey, guard Isaac Somalo, offensive tackle Andre Dillard, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox, defensive end Robert Quinn, linebacker Keizer White, linebacker TJ Edwards, and linebacker James Bradbury.
Prior to Graham’s contract, the Eagles had $8.85 million in cap space per spottrack. Given their cap status and extensive roster of free agents, it would be impossible to re-sign everyone. It’s simple math. Therefore, the front office will have to handle this situation very carefully. Every dollar allocated counts. Signing Graham to a $6 million contract was off to a great start.
The Eagles have options to free up additional cover space, too. They could unlock $8.66 million if they restructure Lynn Johnson’s contract. Trading Slay will provide an additional $4.846 million.
