The San Francisco 49ers will land the Philadelphia Eagles in a defensive tackle with Javon Hargrave in free agency.

Good for Javon Hargrave to get the bag back in his NFL free agency.

The former third-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens out of South Carolina would leave the Philadelphia Eagles stacking up for piles of gold in the Bay Area. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday during the legal rigging that Hargrave will be getting a four-year deal worth $80 million, $40 million totally guaranteed to play for the San Francisco 49ers now.

Hargrave is a good player and he has a better agent, because the guy knows how to get paid.

This is a huge pickup for the 49ers, while simultaneously hurting the Eagles’ chances of a repeat.

NFL rumour: Javon Hargrave gets the bag again and heads to San Francisco

Hargrave has just turned 30 and will be entering his eighth season in the NFL. He first banked on a three-year, $39 million deal with the Birds signed in 2020. Now, he is set to double his net worth with the 49ers. While it remains to be seen if he’s able to fully carry out a four-year contract, that’s a guaranteed $40 million thanks to the brilliance of Drew Rosenhouse.

This reported signing is about ensuring that the 49ers are an absolute camper in the trenches, despite the loss of yet another coordinator for the head coach position. Kyle Shanahan may be an offensive coach, but two of his former coordinators starred on the other side of the ball in Robert Salih of the New York Jets and now DeMeco Ryans head coach of the Houston Texans.

Overall, this deal is about getting insane productivity out of Hargrave for its first two years. If the new contract with the 49ers runs out, Hargrave will enter free agency for the third time at the age of 34. It would be very unlikely that he would ever get that kind of money again given his age. Then again, he seems to be playing a winning brand of soccer and the teams really like that.

Congratulations to Hargrave and his family on acquiring the portfolio and securing a generational fortune.
