NFL rumors: Derek Carr is leaning towards one particular suitor

Heading into 2023 in the league, freestyle midfielder Derek Carr appears to prefer which team he wants to play for.
The 2023 league year officially begins on March 15th, but the negotiation window opens on March 13th. When it comes to Derek Carr, he could sign much sooner, considering he was released from his contract by the Las Vegas Raiders just days after Super Bowl 57.
Carr has had the opportunity to meet with teams, most notably the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, and Carolina Panthers. From visiting them at their own facilities to meeting at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
So, which team has the advantage so far?
According to ESPN’s senior NFL reporter, Carr is “leaning a little bit” toward the Jets as his favorite team. Fowler included a caveat that this is how Carr feels “so far” and that “nothing is definitive”.
While the #Panthers and #Saints remain in Derek Carr’s conversation, the former Pro Bowl quarterback has a slight lean toward the #Jets as his next home to date, per a source. Nothing is definitive, but the Gates — who are linked to Aaron Rodgers — have made an impression.

Derek Carr was reportedly leaning toward signing with the Jets
While Carr wants to sign with the Jets, it is important to note that the team is highly associated with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
The thing is, it’s not known when Rodgers will make a decision on his playing status for the 2023 season. His options remain with the Packers, request a deal to play elsewhere, or retire. In a recent Rodgers appearance on the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast,” he said a decision would come “soon enough.”
In terms of roster, the Jets are the most complete of the three teams. They have a young wide receiver corps, led by Garrett Wilson Offensive Rookie of the Year, and a stout defense. This is the team that missed the playoffs due to quarterbacking.
As Carr enters his 32-year-old season, he will bring some stability to the position. Yes, although last season was disappointing for Carr, he still threw for over 4,000 yards from 2018 through 2021.
Aircraft will not have to give up a capital project to obtain a CAR. All they have to do is sign him to a contract, and use their #13 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft to bring him some talent, especially on the offensive line.
Again, nothing definitive, but as of this writing, and as of Fowler’s tweet, Carr is leaning a bit toward joining the Jets.
