The latest NFL rumors include seeing DeAndre Hopkins in Dallas, and the Bills and Eagles likely losing some big stars to this free agency.

All anyone can talk about now is that Aaron Rodgers is being traded to the New York Jets. The NFL community would certainly be upset if and when that happened, however, there is also clamor around the league regarding other star players. Rodgers is not the center of the universe even if he thinks he is.

First, to recap what happened at the franchise tag deadline Tuesday: Lamar Jackson got a non-exclusive franchise tag, the New York Giants stretched Daniel Jones and tagged Saquon Barkley, and… oh, yeah, Tom Brady isn’t going anywhere. . He adopted a cat and seems very happy in retirement.

With the league gearing up for an eventful free agency, plenty of offensive and defensive stars could find new homes in the 2023 season.

Let’s take a look at three of the biggest NFL rumors of the moment.

NFL rumours: Eagles set to part ways with CJ Gardner Johnson in 2023

It was always impossible for the Philadelphia Eagles to keep their defensive unit intact, as it is with all players who play on expired contracts. There were rumors that the team would put the franchise tag on CJ Gardner-Johnson, but deadlines came and went.

The former Saints defensive back landed in Philly and had one of the best years of his career, leading the NFL with six interceptions despite missing time.

Possibly joining impending free agents James Bradbury and Javon Hargrave as injuries, Gardner Johnson leaves the Eagles on a bittersweet note. Notorious trash talker Philly showed nothing but love in an emotional farewell letter:

Leave it to Howie Roseman to make the key decisions to keep the Eagles franchise going for years to come.

Assuming Gardner-Johnson, Bradberry and Hargrave are all on their way out, Philly can turn their attention to stretch priorities like Brandon Graham, Marcus Epps, Boston Scott and others.

Gardner-Johnson has at least played well enough in 2022 to hopefully land him a lucrative contract elsewhere.
