NFL rumors: Chiefs could replace Orlando Brown Jr. with blockbuster trade

The Kansas City Chiefs have been involved in trade talks to tackle the Pro Bowl offense.

The Kansas City Chiefs are moving on from offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., according to NFL Network’s James Palmer.

Brown is a huge loss. He is a four-time professional player. In 2022, he scored 1,133 offensive snaps for the Chiefs and posted a PFF grade of 75.8.

As a result, the Chiefs made a big move. They signed The Attack on Joan Taylor to a four-year, $80 million deal each from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Former Jaguars OT Jawaan Taylor has reached agreement on a four-year deal worth $80 million, including $60 million, with the KC Chiefs, per sources. The deal was negotiated and confirmed by Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.

Over the past four seasons, Taylor has started all 66 games for the Jaguars. At Jacksonville, he played right tackle, while Cam Robinson played left tackle.

Palmer noted that Taylor is expected to play left field going forward for the Chiefs.

So I understand #chiefs are out on Orlando Brown Jr. going forward. Joanne Taylor is expected to play the LT game for KC.

However, there is still a possibility that the reigning Super Bowl champion could make a huge move to add another tackle.

The leaders discussed trading for Armie Tunsil

According to KPRC’s Aaron Wilson, KC discussed a potential trade in the Houston Texans’ offense to face Larmy Tunsil.

The three-time Pro Bowler would be a huge addition to the Chiefs. He outlasted both Brown and Taylor last season. In 1,061 offensive snaps, he gave up just one sack and posted a grade of 80.0 PFF.

Tunsil will enter the final year of his contract. If traded to Kansas City on his behalf, they would be responsible for his base salary of $18.5 million. Considering its performance, this number is actually a solid value. Excluding today’s free agent trades, he would be tied for the fifth-highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL.

Yes, Texas is rebuilding. Surprisingly, however, they discuss Tunsil in deals. The offensive tackle is one of the most important positions in football, and Tunsil is still only 28 years old. Whether it’s a draft Texan named Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, or Anthony Richardson, Tunsil can make their lives so much easier and better position them for immediate success.

From the Texans’ perspective, they should ask for a first-round pick and something extra.
