NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers delay, Chiefs upgrade, Saints surprise

NFL rumours: As much as the NFL world wants a transfer from Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets and Green Bay Packers may not agree to a trade anytime soon.
While the initial delay in the trade talks appeared to be Aaron Rodgers himself, that is no longer the case. The Packers are content to wait on the Rodgers deal until the Jets respond to their demands.
According to Pro Football Talk, Rodgers has a manageable cap number — a $58 million option that can be picked up anytime between now and week one — so there’s not much of a rush to deal with. Sure, that’s a lot of money for the salary cap, but Rodgers is unlikely to stay at Green Bay either way. Why rush, when packers can force planes to surrender at the asking price?
I had to catch up with Trey Wingo (@wingoz) after he tweeted about Aaron Rodgers to the #Jets.
“The tweet I posted is going to happen. The deal has basically been in place since last Friday. The disruption isn’t Aaron.”

At Rodgers’ end, he had already tried to recruit several free agents to New York. Alain Lazard agreed to sign with the Jets on Tuesday. Randall Cobb is in the mix, and Rodgers has made it clear he wants Odell Beckham Jr. back. To New York too – but this time with the Jets.
His wish list might seem like a lot, but this is the first time in Rodgers’ career that he’s got all the power. With Tom Brady gone, Rodgers can recruit virtually whoever he wants without much competition. He is not wrong to take advantage of this fact.
