Justin Fields’ first comments on DJ Moore trade will hype up Bears fans

Justin Fields made no secret of his excitement when he found out that the Chicago Bears had acquired DJ Moore in a blockbuster trade with the Carolina Panthers.
When the Chicago Bears traded the #1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers, they got a massive amount, including wide receiver DJ Moore.
Needless to say, quarterback Justin Fields was thrilled and didn’t even try to contain his excitement when asked about it.
“I’m excited to add a guy like DJ to our offense,” Fields said via NFL.com’s Kevin Patra. “He’s proven he can be an explosive playmaker in this league, and I’m looking forward to working with him and the rest of our receivers so we can take the next step as an offense. I’ve gotten to know him a little bit and I know he’s ready to put in the effort to help our team win. I can’t wait.” Until you get our whole group on the field together and see how we can put it all together.”
This is not short. This means something. Fields clearly has a lot of respect for Moore, and the idea of them working together to found a future top quarterback group in Chicago is tantalizing.
DJ Moore brings a fresh element to the Chicago Bears, including some draft capital.
Chicago didn’t just get a new wide receiver in the trade to Carolina. They’ve got some picks to work with, and from the suburbs, it’s safe to assume the Bears will likely trade those picks back for more picks.
Even with their signings of free agents like guard Nate Davis, linebacker Tremaine Edmonds, and defensive end DeMarcus Walker, the roster gaps are still significant. However, by making deals and signings like the one above, the process continues to progress rather than deviate from the right track, which best defines the Ryan Pace era as it does in the Windy City.
General Manager Ryan Pauls seems to be doing things differently, but results for that still have to show. For now, it’s nice to see Justin Fields embrace DJ Moore, and hopefully, for their sake, they’ll do so in the endzone next season.
