Giants star openly recruiting Odell Beckham Jr. back to New York

A day after Odell Beckham Jr. held a free agency training Friday, a star of the New York Giants made him an offer to return to the team that drafted him.

Odell Beckham Jr. He was looking for a new team to sign with after missing the entire 2022 season while recovering from a torn ACL.

Given his unsigned, Beckham doesn’t have to wait until the official start of the year in the league, March 15, to put pen to paper on a new contract. He conducted a practice for interested teams on Friday in Arizona and reportedly impressed the attendees.

One of the clips circulated from the exercise was Beckham holding him with one hand. The NFL’s official Instagram account posted the video with the caption, “Which team will sign @obj?”

New York Giants safety Xavier McKinney responded with a recruiting pitch for Beckham to return to the team that drafted him in 2014.

Beckham began his career with New York, where he became one of the league’s biggest stars in a short amount of time. Although the team signed him to a lucrative contract extension in 2018, they chose to trade him to the Cleveland Browns the following season.

The Giants currently have a new system led by General Manager Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Dabul. In fact, the Giants have expressed interest in chasing Beckham, as they were one of the three teams he visited during the 2022 season. Ultimately, he didn’t sign with any of them, as he didn’t fully recover from his torn ACL in time to be an immediate contributor.

For those wondering if the Giants’ interest in Beckham has waned, the answer is no, since they were one of the teams in attendance for the wide receiver workout.

The Giants have a clear need for a wide receiver going into the league year of 2023. They have Isaiah Hudgens, Wan Dale Robinson, and Colin Johnson under contract entering March 15th. They released Kenny Juladay after two seasons with the team, while Sterling Sheppard and Darius Slayton are slated to become unrestricted free agents. The team needs to bring in some reinforcements at the position, especially now that they signed quarterback Daniel Jones to a four-year, $160 million contract.

Beckham is the biggest wide receiver to name available in free agency. Can the Titans find a way to bring him back? Or would one of the other teams present get Beckham to agree to sign them instead?
