Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has announced his intention to play for the New York Jets. Will the two teams face each other in 2023?
The Aaron Rodgers story is almost over, but there was one big step taken this week to bring it closer to the end. During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers announced that, after weeks of deliberation, he intended to play for the New York Jets in 2023.
The Jets were the only team Rodgers had met before his decision. Now, all we need is for the Jets and Green Bay Packers to come to an agreement on a trade deal.
With Rodgers finally making it to the Jets, fans may be wondering if the Packers and the AFC East team will face each other in 2023. Let’s not forget, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos opened the 2022 season following the Russell Wilson deal. Can fans expect to see Rodgers face his former team in 2023?

No, the Jets and Packers are not scheduled to play all of this next season.
New York and Green Bay played against each other last season. The Jets cruised to a 27-10 victory over the Packers. In that game, Rodgers completed 26 of 41 pass attempts for 246 yards and 1 touchdown. Meanwhile, Jets freshman running back Breece Hall had a game, rushing for 116 yards and touchdowns on 20 carries.
In the 14 times the two teams have met, the Jets have the most wins, with nine.
So there you have it. Although it was a must-watch on TV to see Rodgers face off against the team that drafted him in 2005, that won’t happen next season, unless the meeting comes in the Super Bowl.
