Darius Slay makes feelings on reunion with Matt Patricia crystal clear

Darius Slay Doesn’t Want Matt Patricia to Join Nick Siriani’s Philadelphia Eagles Staff EVER!

Even in the City of Brotherly Love, two men who used to work so closely together were no longer there.

With rumors suggesting that New England Patriots assistant coach Matt Patricia is potentially linked to the Philadelphia Eagles on Nick Siriani’s staff, let’s just say star quarterback Darius Slay didn’t like it. Sly played for Patricia on the Detroit Lions. Although he shone professionally, the failed former coach apparently disrespected him all along. This is an embarrassing situation…

Here’s what Slay had to say about his former coach while at the Super Bowl.

“He just said, ‘You’re not in that category yet.'” At the time, I only had one Pro Bowl but now I’m at five, so I want to know how he feels about it now. I don’t wish bad on him, but as a man, it’s me and him. Just don’t get along. He’s a smart coach, knows his Xs and Os, but disrespect isn’t what I deal with.”

Blueprints have never been an issue for a rocket scientist, but relating to players is a challenge.

When legendary fullback Charles Woodson said a player would play for anyone upon hearing these Slay-Patricia rumours, Slay’s former Lions teammate Quandre Diggs hinted that this was a very different case. Echo will slay this feeling. Amazingly, Diggs and Slay were on the same defensive court in Detroit and the Lions couldn’t win many games ever with Patricia.

Things have changed. While Slay thrived, Patricia was humble, but that’s embarrassing.

Darius Slay makes it very clear how he feels about Matt Patricia

While Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio noted that this may have been Patricia’s way of going after the best player on the team to get the most out of him (i.e. the Patriot way), not everyone can be coached like Tom Brady. This tactic might be right up alley with Bill Belchik, but Patricia’s imitation crab substitute just didn’t quite work. He probably won’t be an NFL head coach again.

look. These guys are professionals and they will try to make it work in Philadelphia. I mean, it’s not like Slay would demand a trade for the current NFC champions just because Sirianni hires Patricia for his team. Conversely, who’s going to tell Patricia that he can’t work with the Vultures because Sly is still on their roster? Regardless, Slay has made it very clear how he feels about him.

Honestly, the best thing Patricia could do in her coaching career is join another team outside of New England. He needs to step out of Belchick’s disguised shadow and learn from someone else. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to find out. As for Slay, he needs to play as hard as he can and continue to be a leader Sirianni can build a defense around. Sean Desai depends on this.

Nothing would be funnier than Slay and the Birds carrying Patricia, in Buddy Ryan style.
