Daniel Jones might need all $160M to recover from Bears safety roasting him

Daniel Jones signed a massive $160 million deal with the Giants on Tuesday, but Bears swordsman Jaekwan Brisker quickly roasted him into oblivion.

Right at the franchise sign-off deadline bell, the New York Giants showed their hand. The G-Men put the mark on running back Saquon Barkley while handing quarterback Daniel Jones a monster four-year, $160 million deal.

While this was going on, though, the Baltimore Ravens were unable to strike a deal with their signal caller, their most accomplished former MVP, Lamar Jackson. Subsequently, the team placed Jackson’s non-exclusive franchise tag. And that didn’t sit well with at least one NFL player: Chicago Bears safety Jaquan Brisker.

The Bears’ second-round pick reacted to a Twitter user who couldn’t believe Jackson was “being treated like it wasn’t proven.” And he didn’t go back on his words, completing a Daniel Jones roast in the process.

“MVP lol… the other Bruh got paid today and he’s #FACTS trash,” Brisker wrote on Twitter.

Danny Dimes may be Dan Nichols after that burn.

For what it’s worth, Brisker has a leg up on Jones in a department other than trash talk. The Giants’ quarterback was fired by the rookie Bears during last season’s Week 4 game. Jones also threw an interception in that game, a contest he left early due to an ankle injury. However, it was New York that picked up the win.

Once you get past Brisker’s roast session, though, it’s a wild showdown to look at a quarterback like Jackson who has an MVP trophy at home along with several playoff anchors while Jones only has one good season with the Giants to his credit. However, it was Jones who got paid rather than tagged.

Unfortunately for us fans, though, Jones won’t have the chance to make Brisker eat his words — or, conversely, Brisker won’t have the chance to prove his point — because the Bears and Giants aren’t playing in the 2023 season.
