Could Packers replace Aaron Rodgers with Lamar Jackson?

Could anything happen in the NFL? Of course, why not? But the Packers, who traded Aaron Rodgers for Blamar Jackson, would be fierce.

The Green Bay Packers seem more inclined to trade Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets every day. This is because they already have an alternative in mind already in Jordan Love. But what if they pull 180?

Lamar Jackson is on the market, if the Packers want him. The Ravens tagged Jackson with non-exclusive rights, meaning the team could sign him to a long-term contract, thus limiting the market. The only price would be the bargain price, and two first-round picks would be sent to Baltimore. It’s not perfect, but it’s also what a starting quarterback costs these days.

Packers: Is Lamar Jackson an option to replace Aaron Rodgers?

To put it short – no.

Green Bay has already invested in a first-round pick in Jordan Love, albeit years ago. So, by signing Jackson to a massive contract, they would not only lose cap space, but two first-round picks and another first-round pick receiver they did in the 2020 NFL Draft. Although Love won’t be involved in any trade for Jackson, he sure as hell won’t be staying in Green Bay after his rookie deal. Which contract will Jackson be committed to in the long term?

Green Bay has two options – either keep Aaron Rodgers anchored as a starter for as long as he desires, or finally cut the chord and give Love the reigns.

Rodgers met with the Jets, who flew to meet him on a private plane. New York’s top players tweeted, suggesting that the Packers’ quarterback should join their crew. All of this is impressive, and it might be enough.

But in no way does it make sense for the pack to turn around and invest in Jackson. However, this would make for a great stage.
