Buccaneers replace Tom Brady with the most hilarious possible move

The Bucs have a quarterback succession in place, going from one of the greatest players of all time to one of the greatest players of all time.
There is hardly a good option when it comes to GOAT replacing Tom Brady, but there is…. unwanted. In one of the NFL’s most ridiculous free agency moves, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers went out and acquired Baker Mayfield as their 2023 Quarterback.
Nobody can compare to Brady, but in this case, Mayfield really doesn’t compare.
After seeing the Saints get Derek Carr, the Falcons get Taylor Hynecke, and the Panthers get Andy Dalton, it was understandable for the Book family to feel a little left out.
On Wednesday, the Bucs came out and lunged for their big catch, proudly carrying for all the league to see: former Los Angeles Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Little do they know, they are about to be hunted.
Mayfield and the Bucks have reportedly agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $8.5 million, sealing the former No. 1 spot as Tampa Bay’s starting quarterback for the 2023 season.
The #Bucs are finalizing a deal with former #1 overall pick Baker Mayfield, sources say.

The Buccaneers take the bait for Baker Mayfield and agree to a one-year deal for 2023
This will be Mayfield’s fourth team in the past three years and likely his last chance to establish himself as a reliable first team player.
Six years after being drafted to the first overall, all indications from his career so far are that Mayfield is not “that guy” and may never be “that guy.”
The Cleveland Browns first seized the opportunity in Mayfield, and the small-eyed Oklahoma product led the Browns to several seasons of success, including a short playoff run in 2020. Mayfield scored nearly 2,000 yards in Cleveland, but it became a running gag joke For frequently dropping his passes. With a 92-56 touchdown interception percentage over four seasons, he wasn’t just the franchise quarterback the Browns envisioned for their future (who, as it turns out, is a controversial quarterback with a history of sexual misconduct).
Last season, the ever-sensitive Mayfield quit the bullies in Cleveland and tried to make a home on the Carolina Panthers. But his Panthers teammates didn’t even want him, and that marriage heated up within a year. He was then picked up by the Rams for the 2022 season, where his most memorable performance was a 51-14 rout of the Denver Broncos in Week 16.
With Matthew Stafford running back for 2023, Mayfield may still think he can start on a team and not want to play a backup role. He’ll now join the NFC South’s quarterback scene that looks unrecognizable from the year before — at least Mayfield himself and the Bucs are confident in his rapidly fading potential, even if no one else is.
