Aaron Rodgers rumors: Packers and Jets trade talks take a major step back

Remember when we thought the Packers-Jets trade talks about Aaron Rodgers were almost complete? Oh, those were the days.
I hate to break it to you, but this may take a while.
Aaron Rodgers is still a member of the Green Bay Packers. We have no idea if he wants to play next year, despite the huge bonus of simply reporting to training camp and sitting on the bench. The New York Jets are interested, and would gladly pay him most of that money. Everything is in motion.
Butt stopped that movement, for now. As amazing as Rodgers is, he’s also one of the most decisive players in the sport. We could be at this for weeks. Every step forward is answered by the proverbial step back.
Per, Tom Pelissero, the Jets and Packers have not agreed to a framework for this trade, despite reports suggesting that it will. Rodgers also isn’t close to making a decision. He’s doing it on his own terms, and that means we’re stuck on the fence.
Despite a report to the contrary, the #Packers and #Jets did not agree to the framework of Aaron Rodgers’ trade, sources say. Both sides continue to await word from Rodgers on his plans. If he decides he wants to go to New York, the teams will work out a deal.

Aaron Rodgers rumour: Packers and Jets trade talks on neutral
Mark Murphy discussed Aaron Rodgers’ Green Bay career in past tense Friday night, making it seem as though the future Hall of Famer’s return to the Packers was a backup plan.
“I mean, if things don’t turn out the way we want them to, yeah,” Murphy said on the WIAA broadcast when asked if there was a scenario in which Rodgers could return. “Obviously he’s a great player and a four-time MVP, but I think he’s trying to find what he wants and what we want, and hopefully we can find a win-win situation.”
Rodgers’ dark decline looks like a long time ago at this juncture. That should have helped him make up his mind. Lots of for this.
It’s like a doctors appointment with a waiting period of days. It never ends.
