2023 NFL Draft: Post-NFL Scouting Combine full two-round mock
With the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine in the rearview mirror, we’re taking a look at a complete, updated version of the 2023 NFL Mock Draft round.
The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine wrapped up last week from Indianapolis, and for many players it was a step in the right direction in terms of their tryout stock. The quarterback lineup has emerged, showing a combination of athleticism and passing accuracy, and there’s a good chance we’ll see as many as four in the top 5 picks.
Here, we take a look at what the first round of the NFL Draft could look like, taking into account some trades after shows at Indy.
2023 NFL Mock Draft: Post NFL Scouting
quarterback Indianapolis Colts
The 2023 NFL Scouting Association has been nice to the quarterbacks, putting on the offer and doing the interview process. As for CJ Stroud, he had one of the best passing efforts we’ve seen in some time, cementing himself as one of the first players off the plate in April.
With Chicago getting the No. 1 overall pick and stating they’ll stick with Justin Fields, they’re trading the top pick to the Indianapolis Colts. Stroud did enough at Indy, and during his time at Ohio State to justify being the first player off the board, landing with the Colts as the franchise’s next quarterback.
quarterback Houston Tx
Staying with the AFC South, the Houston Texans are the second overall pick, and if C.J. Stroud is gone by the time they pick them, the selection will be Alabama quarterback Bryce Young. In this draft class, the general idea is that Young and Stroud are QB1A and QB1B, so the Texans can’t really lose out on picking where they are this recruiting season.
Young may not have the typical size you’re looking for in an NFL quarterback, but he’s the complete package and allows the Texans to hit the reset button at the most important position in the sport. Houston is playing in a division that could be wide open in 2023, and in Young, they’re getting the kind of playmaking quarterback they haven’t had since Deshaun Watson.
